There are a few reasons why items in PRISM or the Vault may have embargoed or restricted access:
- It is a metadata-only item, not the full text
- For items marked Placeholder file - Request Digitization, select the file and complete the request form.
- For other items, contact digitize@ucalgary.ca for investigation on what access options are available.
- An item is under an embargo for a specified period of time due to publisher policies
- When Request a Copy is enabled by the submitter they can choose to send the requester a copy if their publisher agreement allows.
- Request access by selecting the file link and submitting the Request a copy form.
- The library can provide a link to the publisher’s version of the item.
- An item is under an embargo at the request of the author
- When Request a Copy is enabled by the submitter they can choose to send the requester a copy.
