Q. How do I get access to embargoed materials in PRISM or The Vault?

There are a few reasons why items in PRISM or the Vault may have embargoed or restricted access:

1. It is a metadata-only item, not the full text
   • For items marked Placeholder file - Request Digitization, select the file and complete the request form.
   • For other items, contact openservices@ucalgary.libanswers.com for investigation on what access options are available.
2. An item is under an embargo for a specified period of time due to publisher policies
   • The library can provide a link to the publisher’s version of the item.
3. An item is under an embargo at the request of the author
   • The library cannot provide access until the embargo is lifted.
4. An item is under an embargo and Request a Copy is not enabled
   • The submitter has restricted access.
   • The library cannot provide access until the embargo is lifted.
