Q. Is there anti-plagiarism software available?
The University of Calgary does not subscribe to any institution wide plagiarism checker. If you would like to use one as a faculty member please check with your department and/or faculty to see if there are any guidelines around using one in your classes. There are a variety of different plagiarism checking tools online, both free and with fees. Two commonly used tools are Turnitin and iThenticate. Neither of these tools are subscribed to at the University of Calgary institution wide.
Whichever plagiarism checker you end up selecting, be sure to thoroughly check their terms of service as some free plagiarism checker websites sell uploaded documents to essay mills, an example of this is Viper Anti-Plagiarism Scanner.
