What happened to the Classic Catalogue?

The new library system merges our local catalogue and the many online resources we subscribe to into a single search tool. However, you can limit your search to our physical collections, and you can also use Advanced Search and Browse to access many of the search tools that were available through the Classic Catalogue.

If you want to do a simple search of our local holdings, you can change the "scope" of your search to "UofC Collections":

The default search for UofC Collections is our physical collections - items that are held in one or more of our libraries. This search does not include e-books, e-journals, or articles; if you wish to find these, you should leave your search option on Quick Search (books, articles & more).

If you want to do a more complex search, select Advanced Search:

Note that you can change the “any field” option to Title, Author, Subject, and several other options. Add more lines to build more complex searches. Options on the right allow you to limit by item type (books, articles, etc.) language, and publication date.

More options for refining your search can be found on the left-hand side of the results display:

The BROWSE option on the top menu bar allows you to browse our physical collection by call number, author, title and subject. PLEASE NOTE: We are currently working to address problems with the functionality of our Browse tool.
