Students have access to the Macmillan Achieve learning system through public computers at TFDL; however, this access is not administered by the University of Calgary Library. TFDL library staff cannot help with troubleshooting access beyond general computer access.
Instructors are responsible for setting up free access for students to any homework or learning tools developed by textbook publishers. The course instructor is responsible for providing students with instructions and any necessary course IDs to access the free versions of these homework tools. Please check your course syllabus for more information.
On first log in, students will be asked to create an account and register with a course code. Then the student can access the course through a 14-day grace period. After the grace period, if access is needed, students will either need to purchase access or log on through a TFDL public computer and extend their grace period by one day.
Extending the grace period by one day will work each time a student logs in, but only if students are logging in from a TFDL public computer. This would not work at home or at a different library branch. If access is needed elsewhere, students would need to purchase access.
Please follow this link for more information on TFDL’s textbook policies and course reserves.
