Q. Where do I pick up a book that’s on hold?

Taylor Family Digital Library: Holds kiosks are located just past the elevator bank. Interlibrary loans are held on a shelf behind the Integrated Service Desk. Please remember to sign out your ILL prior to leaving the library.

Doucette Library: Pick up from the Holds shelf and sign out using the self-checkout.

Gallagher Library: Pick up from the Holds shelf and sign out using the self-checkout.

Health Sciences Library: 

Holds ready for pick-up at the Health Sciences Library (Foothills Campus) are located in the blue kiosk on the ground floor of the Health Sciences Centre (HSC), in the hallway between the Heritage Medical Research Building (HMRB) atrium and the U of C Medical Bookstore. A UniCard is required to retrieve holds from the kiosk.

The HSC building is open Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM (closed on weekends and statutory holidays). The kiosk is accessible during these hours. After hours, holds can be retrieved by those with swipe card access to the HSC building.

The closest public parking is Lot 6 (North Parking), or patrons can use the 15-minute parking/loading zone near the HSC entrance.

Interlibrary Loans (ILL) and oversized holds can be picked up at the Health Sciences Library during open hours or after hours (swipe card access only). The ILL and oversized holds shelf is located next to the self-checkout machine, across from the computer lab. Please remember to sign out your ILL  or oversized holds before leaving the library (UniCard required for check out).

Law Library: Pick up from the Holds shelf and sign out using the self-checkout.
