The Patron Scan on Demand service provides digital access to “short excerpts” of physical books or journals. Copies of copyright protected works will be made in compliance with Canadian copyright law and provided for research and private study purposes only.
A short excerpt means:
- Up to 10% of eligible copyright-protected works; OR
- One chapter from a book; OR
- A single article from a periodical;
For information, please see the University of Calgary Fair Dealing Guidelines for Teaching and Research or contact the Copyright Office, copyright@ucalgary.ca.
