00:00: This video shows how to submit a Scan on Demand request for a short excerpt from a
00:04: print book or journal in our library collection.
00:08: Go to the library webpage and look up the title.
00:11: Once you have located the print title, click on it. Please note that if an
00:15: electronic copy is available and you submit a Scan on Demand request for the print
00:19: version, your request will be rejected and a link to the electronic resource will be
00:24: provided in the notification email.
00:27: You must sign in to submit a Scan on Demand request.
00:31: Once you have signed in, click the Scan on Demand button.
00:35: Complete all required fields, including the chapter or article title, author, and page
00:40: range. Review and acknowledge the copyright notice.
00:45: Once you have completed the form, click “Submit Scan on Demand Request.”
00:50: You will see a confirmation box indicating that your request has been placed.
00:56: To check the status of your request,
00:57: go to My Requests in your library account.
01:01: On the My Requests page, you can check the status of your Scan on Demand request.
01:05: A status of “Not Started”
01:08: means your request is awaiting approval.
01:10: You can also cancel the request while it is in this status.
01:15: The In Process status means your request has been approved and added to
01:19: the fulfillment queue for scanning.
01:21: Please note that if your request exceeds copyright allowance, or if you have already
01:25: received an excerpt from the same book or journal issue within the past four
01:29: months, your request will be rejected and you will be asked to place a hold on the
01:32: physical item.
01:34: You can also cancel the request while it is in this status.
01:38: You will receive an email with a link to download the PDF of your requested
01:42: excerpt.
01:43: At this stage, your request is complete and will no longer appear under My Requests
01:47: in your library account.
