Q. I would like to check out a book from the U of C. I am a Calgary Public Library member. Do I have access to books at the U of C?

Calgary Public Library (CPL) members are entitled to an Alberta Library (TAL) card as long as their CPL membership is in good standing. The TAL card must be issued at the visitor's home library; for example, at a CPL branch. With the TAL card you can check out books from the U of C's libraries. TAL card users are limited to 5 checkouts at a time. If you want to check out a large number of books, you may want to purchase a Community Reader card which allows you to have 50 books checked out at once. The cost of the community reader card is $65.00; $15.00 for seniors.
