How do I access the CPR Land Sales Catalogue?
Answer
You can access the CPR Land Sales Catalogue at the below link:

The CPR Land Sales Catalogue contains records of sales of agricultural land by the Canadian Pacific Railway to settlers and land companies in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta from 1881 to 1927. The information available includes the name of the purchaser, legal description of the land, number of acres purchased, and cost per acre. These records are often used when applying for Century Farm status, as well as for genealogical purposes.
These records only record the first sale of land from the Canadian Pacific Railway and does not record any subsequent transactions from the title holder to other individuals. Subsequent sales were recorded by provincial Land Titles agencies. We do not hold any land records for settlers who obtained land titles via the Western Land Grants system of the Department of the Interior (also known as "homesteads"). Please visit the Western Land Grants database at Library and Archives Canada for information about homesteads in Western Canada.
